Introduction[edit | edit source]
The records of the Guernsey (and the other islands in the Bailiwick of Guernsey) are housed in a few locations on Guernsey. While some of these records are available on the FamilySearch Catalog, Ancestry, and Findmypast, the majority of records have not yet been digitized. These records must be accessed either through ordering them, visiting in person, or hiring a researcher.

A guide to Civil and Parish Registers and Census records at the Priaulx Library

- Visitors and overseas researchers can make use of the library's paid research services.
The library's records include:
- Civil and parish microfilm records: The Priaulx Library holds Guernsey civil records beginning in 1840, civil records for Alderney (part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey) beginning in 1850, and parish registers for the Bailiwick of Guernsey beginning in 1570.
