Nepal does not have a national repository for vital statistics of any kind. There is a movement in place to establish this as a national policy, and the following link provides some information on this activity:

"Some civil records were destroyed during World War II and may not be available. Local authorities generally will issue a certificate to that effect, although the process may take months. A replacement statement of identity is also available from local authorities when the birth certificate is unavailable."[1]
