Purpose

To add databases to county pages for various states

Purpose

The purpose of this project is to add a birth record collection to CA county pages.

Task List

Task list

Instructions

  1. Go to the task list.


  2. Place your name next to the county that you want to edit and go to that county page


  3. Find the Birth section in the table of contents, click on that


  4. Click on the Edit Source button next to Birth


  5. Copy the following code:

  7. Find the entry that begins with '''1905-1995'''; paste the code at the end of that entry. NOTE: if the entry is NOT on the page, make a note on the task list and move to the next county.


  8. Click the Show Preview button. Make sure everything looks good. If it looks good, save the page and move on. If it doesn't look good, fix it before saving the page.


  9. Place the date that you finished the page on the task list and move on to the next county.

  7. This will take you to the "Marriage" section of the page. Click on the edit source button next to the heading.

  10. Paste the code in chronological order. This collection begins in 1867, so in the example below, we will paste the code between the entry of 1820 and the entry of 1868. It will look like the following:

  12. Click "Show preview" to make sure that the collection was copied correctly. It should look like the following:

  14. If everything looks good, save the page. If something is off, correct the code and then save the page.


  15. Go back to the task list, mark the date you completed it in the "Date" column, and move on to the next county.

  7. This will take you to the "Death" section of the page. Click on the edit source button next to the heading.

  10. Paste it into the text box at the bottom of the code. It will look like the following:
