Purpose

The purpose of these projects is to add new online collections to the FamilySearch Wiki.

Task List

Ohio Deaths Task List

Instructions

  1. Open the task list.


  2. Place your name by the county that you want to edit.


  3. Click on the link in the "County" column to take you to the page.

  5. Once on the county pages, look for "Deaths" in the table of contents, click on that link.

  7. This will take you to the "Death" section of the page. Click on the edit source button next to the heading.

  9. Copy the following code:
    :*'''1908-1932, 1938-2018''' [https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/5763/ Ohio, Death Records, 1908-1932, 1938-2018] at Ancestry.com ($) — index and images


  10. Paste it into the text box right after:
    :*'''1908-1953''' - [[Ohio Deaths - FamilySearch Historical Records|Ohio Deaths, 1908-1953]] Free name indexes and images at [[Ohio Deaths and Burials - FamilySearch Historical Records|FamilySearch]]. Records include such information as birth date of deceased, city, county, and state of death, name of spouse if married, names of parents, maiden name of mother, name of informant, if deceased was single, married, windowed or divorced, occupation of deceased.

    It will look like the following:

  12. There is an old version of this collection on the page already that we need to delete. Delete the following code in the text box:

  13. The code after should look like the following:

  14. Click "Show preview" to make sure that the collection was copied correctly. It should look like the following:

  15. Oh death code finished.png

  16. If everything looks good, save the page. If something is off, correct the code and then save the page.


  17. Go back to the task list, mark the date you completed it in the "Date" column, and move on to the next county.
