Our next HOW TO class is on January 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM.
"How To Find Missing Ancestors in Institutional Records.
Part 2: Poor Houses, Orphanages and Prisons."
Do you have ancestors who seemed to disappear off the face of the earth?
Were any of them found in a "poorhouse"? What about an orphanage?
Did you know a child could be in an orphanage even though the parents were still alive?
Madeline Yanov will help you find the answers to these questions and more,
including prison records She will give you tips on what is in these records and
where to find them. Your ancestors don't have to be missing anymore!

Family Historians - Genealogy Interest Group
On Tuesday, Aug 13 at 10:00 -- We will be viewing a Legacy Family Tree Webinar titled
Should You Take The Hint? -- Automated Record Hinting on the Giant Genealogy Websites.
The presenter is Sunny Jane Morton. This is an excellent talk for beginners and experienced family historians, alike.
Sunny explains the difference between selecting Hints and Searching, as well as how to do both most effectively for each of the four major genealogy programs -- Ancestry, FamilySearch, My Heritage and Find My Past. (They are not the same.) A discussion will follow the presentation.
The Family Historian group meets on Tuesday's at 10:00 AM - Noon except when the Center is closed.
(Class begins immediately following the 9 AM streamed Salt Lake City Live Webinars mentioned above)
This open, on-going weekly group will discuss topics about building sound practices
and developing a strong research foundation. If you are working on your family genealogy
and would like support either with the process of researching effectively or in finding elusive information
or would like to share your progress with interested, knowledgeable, friendly people you are sincerely invited to join us.
