Populating Norway Infoboxes: Part 1

Purpose

Now that the Norway parish pages have infoboxes, we need to start populating them with information. This project will be adding information to the infoboxes. This information will be helpful to researchers looking for what different jurisdictions their ancestors' records will be in.

Instructions

Step 1 - Sign Up

1. Go to the Task List and sign up for section.

Step 2 - Google Sheet Information

2. Open the Google Sheet. This sheet will house all of the information that will go in your parishes' infoboxes.

3. Go to the parishes in your respective Task List sign up section. (These can be accessed by going to the Parish list on the County page)

4. Go to the page of first parish in your list of parishes from the Task List.

5. Click "Edit Source" to edit the page.

6. Locate the Infobox template.

HINT: The code looks like this:

7. Copy and paste every piece of information for your respective parish from the Google Sheet into the respective boxes in the Infobox.

Example: The parish Asker in the county of Akershus, according to the Google Sheet, says the information for the Fogderi is "Aker og Follo". You would, then, Copy and paste the text from that cell in the Google sheet, and paste it into the Fogderi section (replacing the "add here") of the infobox code so it would look like this:

8. NOTE: On the Google Sheet, there are different sheets in this file for the different counties. These can be accessed by looking at the tabs on the very bottom of the Google Sheet and finding the tab that has the same title as your County from the Task List.
