Kent, England Probate Jurisdictions
Here is a list of the parishes of Kent and the primary probate courts that had jurisdiction over each.
There were also secondary courts with jurisdiction. They will be added at a later time.
The highest court in the land was the Prerogative Court of Canterbury and it would have had final jurisdiction when necessary, such as in the case of a wealthier person who owned property in more than one area or county, or when a will was disputed. Most wills were proved in the courts of primary jurisdiction.
