Northern Territory Research Tips
Current day Northern Territory was under jurisdiction of other Australia states:
- 1825 Established as a part of New South Wales
- 1863 Transferred to South Australia
- 1911 Northern Territory separated from South Australia
- 1927 Northern Territory split into North Australia and Central Australia
- 1931 North Australia and Central Australia rejoined to become Northern Territory again
Civil Registrations. Civil registration (vital) records were created by the government and include births, marriages, and deaths. They are commonly referred to as vital records because they pertain to critical events in a person’s life. Northern Territory Civil Registrations
