The Layton FamilySearch Center offers a variety of equipment to help with your audio and media needs. You can convert your VHS, audio cassette, or Super8 to digital format. We have four converters for this -- one in the main area, two in the two recording studios, and one in the family room. Feel free to reserve any piece of equipment you may need. You can also capture live video or audio in our two recording studios. Our staff are trained on the equipment, and can assist as needed. Don't forget to bring your flash drive when you come. If you are converting VHS, 8mm or mini-DV, you will need to bring a few DVD-R disks.
Please do not register for multiple pieces of equipment for the same time slot! We realize that some equipment takes a lot of idle time, but we don't want people using multiple machines at the same time, as that prevents others from working on their stuff. If there is equipment (other than the one you have reserved) not being used while you are here, you can ask the receptionists to use it so you can maximize your efficiency while you are here.
