General Archive of the State Government of Oaxaca[edit | edit source]

There are many records kept in the general archive of Oaxaca.

Among the archive's records you can find the following:

  • Hemeroteca (newspaper and periodicals library). They have official newspapers and periodicals (which include state laws and mandates) in consecutive order starting in 1870 as well as some loose prints from 1837, 1839, 1842, 1844, and 1845. They have local newspapers from 1925-1950.
  • Biblioteca (library). Of especial value to genealogical research the census records saved in the library. Many state governmental records can be found there, too.
