Its holdings include the most complete newspaper archive available for the official Colima state newspaper, "El Estado de Colima," including the years 1867 to 1900. The website includes a table listing specifically what articles appear in every issue of the newspaper. Civil registration records from 1867 to 1899 are in the archive. In this collection, 1078 books of birth, marriage, and death records are preserved. The following places are included in the collection: Colima city, Coquimatlán, Zacualpan, Manzanillo, Camotlán de Miraflores, Cuauhtémoc, Quesería, Tecomán, Comala, Villa de Álvarez, Suchitlán, San Miguel de la Unión, Ixtlahuacán y El Mamey (hoy Minatitlán). Some places only have a partial collection, but the Colima records are complete.
