Marin County Genealogical Society and Library

The Marin County Genealogical Society[1] (MCGS), was formed in May 1977, and serves the residents of Marin County, California.

It is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that seeks to

  • Promote interest in family history through education and sound research methods.
  • Encourage stewardship of genealogical holdings.
  • Provide a forum to share genealogical information.

The society offers research services, and a research library, housing reference materials from California, the United States, and around the world.

The library resides in the San Rafael (Marin) Family History Center[2] (FHC) and is operated in a joint venture with this center.
