To serve as Central Repository and Manager of Public Records; with the responsibility of making provisions for the economical and efficient management of Government of Liberia's records; by developing standards, procedures, and techniques designed to improve the management of records, and to ensure the maintenance and security of records deemed appropriate for preservation; providing access to government records strengthens equality by allowing Liberians to claim their rights of citizenship, hold their government accountable, and understand their history so they can participate more effectively in their governance process.
