Vital Records consist of civil records of births, adoptions, marriages, divorces, and deaths recorded on registers, certificates, and documents.
Birth and death records began statewide in 1911. Marriages were recorded in the parish clerk of court office. See Louisiana Vital Records for online sources and obtaining records.
