McCann Timothy J. Retford, L. G. T. More Than a Grain.  This article covers the tracing back of the Retford family to the 1840's, which led them to a John Retford.  With the help of Parish Registers and Church Warden accounts, they were able to go back further to a John Retford, and also to locate birth mariiages of John Retford's children.
