This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.

2012 Classes: By popular request, the California Genealogical Society and the Oakland Family History Center are once again combining forces to offer a new classes called BEST GENEALOGY WEBSITE SERIES. Oakland California Family History Center

The Oakland (California) Regional Family History Center is one of the largest and most accessible centers for genealogical research in California, with over 9,000 volumes of books, periodicals, family histories, city and county histories, city directories, plus over 37,000 reels of microfilm and 9,000 microfiche containing millions of local vital records and historical census data from all over the world.

-<B>December 15 – Films in Oakland Family History Center: </B> If you previously ordered films that are currently in the library you should log into your on-line account at www.familysearch.org/films and check the film status. Films will not be automatically extended beyond the holidays. If the film is, for example, scheduled to be returned to Salt Lake during our Christmas closure, you will need to renew the film on-line in order to use it in January <BR>
