The 14th Kentucky Infantry was organized in October, 1861, at Louisa, Kentucky, under Colonel Laban T..Moore and mustered into the United States service on the 10th December, 1861.. The 14th marched to Eastern Kentucky and were assigned to Col. George W. Gallup, by the prompt and efficient and energetic manner he conducted the affairs of his district, the people once more enjoyed protection from Marshall’s forces. They mustered out at Louisa, Kentucky, January 31st ,1865, the veterans and recruits being transferred to the 14th Kentucky Veteran Infantry. | |||
