The 22nd Regiment, Connecticut Infantry was organized at Hartford, Connecticut and mustered in on the 20th day of September, 1862. The regiment mustered out July 7, 1863.[1]

Companies in this Regiment[edit | edit source]
Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived, though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. This regiment, with Companies A - K, was composed of men from all parts of Connecticut, but the majority of men in each unit resided in Hartford County.
