"The San Marino-Montefeltro Diocesan Archives based in Pennabilli in the former seminary Feretrano, preserves the documentary material produced by the Diocese over the centuries and collects the archives of individual parishes. The oldest documents date back to 1500 and there are many scrolls. The documentation, very rich, is an indispensable source for the history of the Montefeltro and San Marino, the diocese, in fact, it has been for centuries the main reference point for a politically divided territory between several lordships."
