Historical Background

No one was living on Bermuda when it was discovered by the Spanish in 1505 nor a century later when it was settled by the British. People from Africa and Native Americans from the 13 colonies were soon brought to Bermuda as slaves. Bermuda is part of the British Overseas Territories.
