:Hi Don, you say that "the template software is dysfunctional". Can you explain with examples what you mean? You refer to the "disp=" parameter of the {{tl|FHL}} template. This is used to change the link text for that template. It is working. Are you wanting to change the link text used on the {{tl|FHL}} template within this template? If so then you just need to add the same parameter, perhaps even using ''disp''. :Hi Steve, I was relying on the code on the 'Template:British Census 'FHL|{{{1}}}|disp={{{1}}}'. That's why I thought something was wrong. That code does not work. I looked over on the help section and found no reference as to how the 'disp' code works. From what your saying I can use any word, "disp" is not a unique identifier.
