FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.


Brainerd Minnesota FamilySearch Center

The Brainerd FamilySearch Center is a branch library of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints FamilySearch Library, a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization. Patrons may access FamilySearch services and resources free online at FamilySearch and at the Brainerd FSC. The center has free access to the many Premium Websites available through the Family History Portal at the FamilySearch Center. Many local records are also available.

Holiday Schedule:

Closed 4th of July, Memorial Day, Election day, Thanksgiving Day, Labor Day, and Closed Christmas and New Years Day weeks.

Collections[edit | edit source]

  • Patrons' Microfiche Collection -- a collection of fiche ordered by our patrons, assorted titles. Contain family histories, vital records, and other types of information.
  • Indefinite Film Collection -- a collection of films on a variety of subjects, to include vital records, county records, court records, etc.
  • Book Collection: -- local county and family records, book collection.

  • FamilySearch Center Portal This center has access to the FamilySearch Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

  • Using the FamilySearch Research Wiki: A comprehensive video presentation explaining the Wiki, navigating it, and some especially useful pages. Case studies demonstrate using the Wiki for genealogical research. Editing and adding articles to the Wiki are covered.
