13th Infantry Regiment completed its organization at Corinth, Mississippi, in May, 1861. Its members were raised in the counties of Lauderdale, Winston, Wayne, Attala, Newton, Chickasaw, Kemper, and Clarke. Surrendered on April 9, 1865. The field officers were Colonels William Barksdale, James W. Carter, and Kennon McElroy; Lieutenant Colonels John M. Bradley, Alfred G. O'Brien, and M. Whitaker; and Majors George L.
