Petsworth Parish

Petsworth (earlier known as Petsoe[1]) Parish has served Gloucester County, Virginia. The parish church was called Poplar Spring Church.[2]

- The first actual reference to Petsoe Parish is found in a land grant to William Thornton dated 16 February 1665/6.[4]

Several of the old graves at the parish cemetery are described at Find A Grave.
The Virginia State Library discussed Petsworth Church Cemetery in a survey of Gloucester County graves published in 1959, but did not mention any legible gravestones.[5] FHL Book 975.53 V3e.
