To validate your genealogical research, it is necessary for you to have a basic understanding of the society in which your ancestors lived. Knowing the daily routine, the religion, the customs and traditions will help you appreciate your ancestor and the time-frame in which he or she lived. That information is of particular importance if you are interested in writing your family history. The methods of research and genealogical records vary in each area and in each time-frame, and are influenced by the local customs and traditions.
