Many documents about Germans from Russia will be written in old Gothic handwriting which is different from the Roman script familiar to most English-speaking genealogists, or in Russian Cyrillic which has an alphabet closer to Greek.
German Handwriting[edit | edit source]
For information about and examples of old German script and type see the "Handwriting" page of the Germany Wiki article.
Russian Handwriting[edit | edit source]
