The Dutch discovered the Futuna island group in 1616. The British discovered Wallis in 1767. Births Certificates: Available by mail from the First Instance Court at the place of birth.
Death Certificates: Death certificates can be requested from the First Instance Court in Mata-Utu.
Marriages and Divorces: Available at Court of the First Instance in the town in which the marriage took place.
Divorces: Available at Court of the First Instance in the town in which the divorce was granted.
Usually marriages and divorces are noted on the birth certificate.[1]
