:The purpose of the Tierra Caliente Regional Museum is to strengthen the identity of the warming region, through the rescue, conservation, research and dissemination of the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the region. It has three permanent rooms. The first tells the story of the origins of Mesoamerica up to the New Spain society of the 16th century, which includes the first civilizations of the country and presents archaeological pieces from the Preclassic, Postclassic, Formative and Classic periods.Room 2 gathers historical material of the place, such as documents, photographs and maps from before Independence until the sunset of the Porfiriato. | |||
In room 3, the visitor is offered information on the municipalities of Tierra Caliente, as well as prominent figures in politics, music, singing, and literature; in this same space you can see everyday objects, old coins, masks, handicrafts, work tools used in mining activities.
