Throughout the rural area of Norway there are many dialects used. There are also dialects used in the cities, but “Bokmål” is the written language used in all of the cities, and “Nynorsk” is the written language used in all the rural areas of Norway. In this Dialect dictionary you will notice that at times a word in Dialect, Bokmål and Nynorsk is similar, but at other times the word is totally different. This dictionary should help you with many of these words that are not listed in a regular Norwegian Dictionary. | |||
