Purpose[edit | edit source]
The Dallas Genealogical Society (DGS) is a Texas non-profit organization whose purpose is threefold:
- to educate by creating, fostering, and maintaining interest in genealogy;
- to support the Genealogy Section of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Public Library in Dallas, Texas; and
- to preserve historical information relating to the city of Dallas, Dallas County, and North Texas.

All-day educational seminars are offered three times each year (Spring, Summer, and Fall). These typically feature nationally recognized genealogical speakers.
