Society Purpose[edit | edit source]
The Dallas Genealogical Society (DGS) is a Texas non-profit organization whose purpose is threefold:
- to educate by creating, fostering, and maintaining interest in genealogy;
- to support the Genealogy Section of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Public Library in Dallas, Texas; and
- to preserve information relating to Dallas County and its early history.

Meetings[edit | edit source]
Monthly meetings provide quality genealogical speakers on a range of genealogical topics. These meetings are open to the general public. Meeting information, recordings, and minutes are on our website.
Seminars[edit | edit source]
All-day educational seminars are offered three times each year (Spring, Summer, and Fall). These typically feature nationally recognized genealogical speakers. Upcoming and past seminars are listed on our website.
Interest Groups[edit | edit source]
DGS sponsors several Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to provide members with an opportunity to meet and work with other genealogists in specific areas. A list of upcoming group meetings is on our calendar.
