Purpose[edit | edit source]
The Dallas Genealogical Society (DGS) is a Texas non-profit organization whose purpose is threefold:
- to educate by creating, fostering, and maintaining interest in genealogy;
- to support the Genealogy Section of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Public Library in Dallas, Texas; and
- to preserve information relating to Dallas County and its early history.
Society Happenings[edit | edit source]
Meetings[edit | edit source]
Monthly meetings provide quality genealogical speakers on a range of topics. These meetings are open to the general public.
Seminars[edit | edit source]
All-day educational seminars are offered three times each year (Spring, Summer, and Fall). These typically feature nationally recognized genealogical speakers.
Interest Groups[edit | edit source]
Support The society raises funds for the acquisition of materials for the Genealogy Section of the Central Dallas Library. Society members staff a help desk in the Genealogy Section of the library.
