Ogden FamilySearch Center Online Classes

We Are Offering Online Classes at the Ogden FamilySearch Center.! The new class format will be taught using the
Zoom Web Teleconferencing platform. You will be able to see and hear the instructor while you follow
along on your own computer. You will be able to interact with the instructor, ask questions and make comments.
To attend the class, you will need to make a reservation. Instructions for joining a class Zoom meeting are below.

Beginning July 21, 2020, classes will be taught each week on Tuesday or Thursday mornings.

Classes will be presented each week on the same day and at the same time.

Steps for Zoom Participant Registration and Download:

  • On the Ogden FamilySearch Center's Webpage, find the class title you want to attend and click on the Title to Register
  • The "meeting Registration" page appears. Fill out the reistration with you name and and email. Click Register.
  • You will receive an email with a confirmation. Save your Confirmation for joining on the day of class.
  • Don't have the Zoon app downloaded? You can do it now OR you can wait until you join the meeting and Zoom will direct you to download.


To Join Class Meeting:

  • To join the class meeting, return to your email confirmation and click on "Click Here to Join."
  • If you haven't downloaded Zoom click "download and run Zoom." A window opens, click SAVE. It downloads and moves you to the next screen.
  • Click "launch meeting" and "Test Computer Audio."
  • A box appears that says "Wait for the host to start this meeting."
  • You'll be in a Waiting Room until the host admits you.
  • When the host admits you, you'll Click Join with Video. You're ready to go!

Ogden Family History Monthly Challenges

Each month the Ogden FamilySearch Center will post two challenges.

Challenge One

  • FamilySearch: Go to your FamilySearch homepage and review Recommended Tasks. For each family name, review the blue record hints and attach the sources as applicable.

Challenge Two

  • Discovery: Go to “Record My Story” and select a story category or create your own story. This is a great time to record in your own voice your experiences and memories through this pandemic.

Sign into FamilySearch.org and find a wealth of instruction and ideas for Ward Temple and Family History Consultants and Leaders!


Children's Area

This center provides a comfortable work environment for parents.
  • There is a play area for small children near computer work stations where parents can work on their family history without leaving their children unattended.
