PRESERVING FAMILY MEMORIES[edit | edit source]

We Offer DIGITIZING EQUIPMENT[edit | edit source]

That will preserve your memories for your posterity.

  • The LVFSL provides Free conversion equipment that will preserve those old recordings into a format that will be accessible for years to come.
  • You only need to bring your recordings or images and your 8 - 16 GB flash drive.
  • We will teach you how to operate the equipment. We will be available throughout your visit to answer your questions.

Reserving Digitizing Equipment[edit | edit source]

To reserve our digitizing equipment call the library at 702-382-9695

  • It is best to call ahead to reserve specific digitizing equipment.
  • You may reserve one piece of equipment for a 2 hour block. If no one has reserved this same equipment after your reservation you may continue to use the equipment for 1 more hour or move to other available equipment.
  • Call the Library to reserve a seat. Below is a description of our equipment.

The Las Vegas FamilySearch Library Video Recording Studiois available to record your family's stories. Designed with audio and video technology for recording into audio and mp4, digital movies. The comfortable furnishings and decorations create an aura of the past ideal for recording personal histories. All our digital audio and video equipment has been programmed to make recording oral histories and interviews easy. Our qualified staff will provide all technical support for your recording session.

Reserving Video Recording Session[edit | edit source]

  • To reserve our video recording studio for a live recording experience, please schedule by calle the library at 702-382-9695
  • You may reserve a recording event for up to 1 hour. Our staff will assist.
  • Groups may relate their story about a recent event such as a service project or youth conference.
  • Family members share memories and record grandma’s voice and smile as she tells her own story.
  • You must bring your own 16 GB flash drive on which your completed video will be transferred.


You will need to bring a USB drive for use in the Family Story Room. It needs to be a minimum of 8 GB preferably 16 GB(for recording up to two hours) and be in its original, unopened package.
