Our Springville Family History Center recently has acquired for new digitizing tools to allow you quickly to digitize photos, slides, negatives, eight millimeter videos, and other documents. These are an Epson photo scanner, a Kodak slide and negative scanner, a digitizer for eight millimeter and super eight movies, and a flatbed scanner. Come learn from Bruce Ellinger, our center’s assistant director, about how to use these new tools for your family histories as well as “memories” and “documents” on FamilySearch. | |||

Come learn the latest tools that can make your family history frequent and fantastic. In this class you will learn sneaky ways to incorporate family history into the busy moments of life using your best friend--your smartphone. Work on family history on the go, at the game, the doctor's office, waiting in line at the airport, or in your few minutes of sanity at the end of the day. President Russell M. Nelson has suggested that many Latter-day Saints become involved with indexing. Recent digitizing of records by the Church has outpaced indexing of a corresponding number of records. There is a vital need for members to engage in indexing to add to the “Tree” so that more deceased individuals can receive their eternal ordinances. What is indexing anyway? Come and learn how you can perform this vital service. Tony and Marilyn Oxborrow, members of our Springville Dry Creek Stake, are our teachers. They also teach indexing at the Lehi Family History Center each month. This class will be taught in the downstairs classroom, and then we invite you upstairs afterwards to try out what you learned. | |||
