:The Society was started during the 1970s with the aim of promoting the history of South Molton, its people, and its environs. The changing scenes of the town and its inhabitants have been recorded; photographs or postcards lent by local people have been scanned and added to a large digital database. Transcripts of Parish Registers, Census returns, copies of property deeds, historic documents have been collected. The collections, which are now housed in part of the Museum premises, include recordings made by local people recalling their memories. | |||
