Public transportation: The Topeka Metro main-hub Quincy Street Station is two and a half blocks northeast of KDHE Office of Vital Statistics. Bus routes 5, 21, and 29 stop even closer at 10th and Kansas Ave.

Collection Description[edit | edit source]

The KDHE Office of Vital Statistics has births, stillbirths, and deaths since 1911; marriages since 1913; and divorce records since 1951.^[3]

For a fee they will issue copies only to immediate family members or their legal representatives. Currently, the Office of Vital Statistics does allow requests for genealogical research. Pre-1940 records may be requested by an individual related as at least a cousin. Post 1940 records must be requested by an immediate family member.^[3]
