For a full understanding of the England census records go to the England Census page.  The Census records are online at various websites.  The census records from 1841 to 1891 are  on microfilm, and can be accessed from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City or  be requested at  Family History Centers around the world. (The Family History Centers do not have the microfilms onsite)
