Brief History

The 196th Regiment, Ohio Infantry was organized at Camp Chase, Ohio, and mustered in March 25, 1865.  They were moved to Baltimore, Maryland, and had garrison duty there and at Fort Delaware till September.  They were mustered out September 11, 1865.
