This class teaches basics of Czech research, including historical overview, border changes, sources for genealogical research in the Czech Republic and at the Family History Library, and research tools that have been found most useful in the Czech genealogical research. Online resources and how Genteam.at is used with Czech research will also be discussed.
In this course, the students will learn to recognize and identify Russian letters both typed and handwritten. They will also learn key words and phrases typically found in the church books enabling them to find key genealogical information contained in the documents

Cyrillic is one of the most common writing systems in the world.  It is utilized in Russia, Rusyn (hence parts of Eastern Slovakia and southern Poland), Serbo-Croatia, Bosnia, Ukraine, and more.  This two-day, two-hour-per-day workshop will provide tools and assistance geared toward helping you to memorize the Russian alphabet and begin to read Cyrillic script in any language.
