What is the Family History Library Block Party?[edit | edit source]
The Family History Library Block Party is sponsored by the Family History Department and the Church History Museum. It is a great event for family friendly fun, entertainment, and learning about your ancestors.
When is the Family History Block Party?[edit | edit source]
The Family History Library Block Party will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016. The event in Salt Lake City will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. It will be held on West Temple Street from North Temple to South Temple.
There is no charge to attend the Family HIstory Library event. Activities at the event will include:
- Live entertainment
- Food vendors (will charge)
- Carnival games
- A rock wall
- Bounce houses
- Face painting
- Pioneer games
- Classes
- Interactive family discovery experiences using technology.
All activities and entertainment is family-centered and family-friendly.
Live Entertainment Schedule

- Green Screen photo opportunity
- Get your photo taken within the FamilySearch logo
- Replace a face computers- Superimpose your face on old time period photos
- My Family Booklet Display- What do you know about your parents, grandparents and great-grandparents? Begin recording the memories you have about your family in the My Family Booklet.
- Photo scanning- Bring in your old photo albums and digitize your photos for free using the Library's fast, high-tech scanners that can scan 85 photos per minute
- 3-in-1 computers which include the following experiences:

Where is the Family History Library?

The Family History Library is located at 35 North West Temple in downtown Salt Lake City.For more information please click here.
Parking[edit | edit source]
There are several places to park around the Family History Library and Temple Square.
- Free parking. Behind the LDS Church History Museum the day of the event there will be limited free parking. Enter the lot from North Temple.
- Pay parking. Lot on the northwest corner of North Temple and West Temple.
- Pay parking. Under the LDS Conference Center. Enter on West Temple just north of North Temple.
- Pay parking. City Creek Center enter from South Temple.
