FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a FamilySearch Center, a branch facility of the FamilySearch Library.


Center Contacts and Hours[edit | edit source]

We provide access to specialized genealogical resources, education and personalized help to our patrons. On-line microfilm ordering allows our patrons access to the vast collection in the Salt Lake City Family History Library. Staff members have a variety of specialized skills to help you get to know your ancestors.

We welcome groups of all ages and interests.  Families, youth, scouting, primary, priesthood and Relief Society groups are all welcome. Groups are encouraged to reserve staff and computer time by by calling Sue Rasmussen 360-653-8268

  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • (List additional collections you have such as the types of books and microfilm you have on indefinite loan; though you will not want to list every single item you have. Just give visitors to this page a general idea of your resources.)

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

Subscriptions include but are not limited to the following databases and services;

     American Ancestors - Focused but not limited to New England

     Ancestry.com - Large database, international in scope

     Find My Past - Focused but not limited to Records of the British Empire

     My Heritage - International Focus, great for Nordic countries

     Access Newspaper Archive - newspapers are a great way around some of those brick walls

     Alexander Street Press - Great Civil War Collection

     Fold3 - Focus on Government Records.  Military, Territorial, Native American

     Paper Trail - looking for your westward moving pioneer ancestors?  Paper trail might help

     Lots of other goodies!

  • printer scanner - this is family search enabled.  You can log into family search and save a few steps by scanning directly into your FamilySearch account from this scanner
