I really like having the options across the top rather than at the right. It helps other options on the right nav bar move up, and is more like other Wiki sites. Alan 18:22, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

I like them on the top as well. I'm a bit worried they don't stand out enough. Thoughts? Molliewog 21:12, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

I like the change, but it's going to take some time to get used to them. I set my preferences to the new skin and have been using it for about a week. Now that I'm used to it I like it better than having it on the side because it sets it apart from the other items on the right-hand nav bar.Jbparker 19:18, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I like the change fine as long as they stand out in some way and are not just a string of words at the top of the page as they appear in the sample. Either create them as tabs, as in Wikipedia, or put them in a color bar, or something so that they don't get lost along with the page's text. Driving in the rain today I was annoyed when the wiper controls were not located in the same place as my other car. I like the options across the top because that is where I'm used to finding them. Robert 21:40, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

I prefer the tabs along the top for both predictabilitiy (as in the wiper example) and because it means more Navigation, Community, and Toolbox options are accessible without scrolling the screen. Having said that, I think the words/tabs need to be more clearly defined - they get lost visually. Eirebrain 02:24, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

I REALLY like this change in the way search results are displayed. Whatever else you do, please do NOT change this one back to the old way.Jbparker 19:18, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

The wiper controls drive me nuts because in one car pushing up turns on the wipers and in the other car pushing down turns them on. I liked the Google-ish feeling that the last line of green text conveyed. Keep the green and I think the change is an improvement. Robert 21:40, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

I like the change, just because it looks better, not because it changes any functionality.Jbparker 19:18, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

This is an excellent change. Previously, there was not enough visual distinction between the site title (Research Wiki) and the article title. Robert 21:40, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

I definately like the default style the best of all of the ideas presented. The thing that needs to be considered in making any type of changes to the overall look of the Wiki is to correlate with the programmers who are working on including the Wiki into FamilySearch and get their ideas. I think the theme of the Wiki needs to match what the new theme of FamilySearch so it will look like part of the FamilySearch web site and not like its own animal. I prefer the WikiTest1 skin. Identifying FamilySearch Research Wiki with the words Research Wiki right next to the Logo is excellent. Since that logo shows up in more than one program, this is an excellent way to identify which program is up & currently being used. I like the search box top right - much easier to find than in the middle down the page. The search results are much clearer in the new WikiTest1 skin. The theme of FamilySearch blending over all is an excellent point. However, I do not think think a perfect match is necessary. Ancestorseeker
