The Warm Springs Reservation is located in north central (Jefferson, Wasco, Linn, Marion and Clackamas Counties)Oregon, northwest of Madras.

Established -- 25 June 1855

Agency (BIA) -- Warm Springs Agency

Principal tribes -- DesChutes (Tyich or Tyigh and Wyam), John Day (Dockspuse or Tukspushe), Paiute, Tenino, Warm Springs (Tilknni), Wasco (Kigaltwalla, Dog River, and Dalles bands)^[1]

Population -- 1,355 (1855); 2,200 (1985)^[2] 1969: Tirbal enrollment: 1,761 ^[3]

The Warm Springs Reservation was established by Treaty of June 25,1855 (12 Stat. 963, ratified March 8, 1859)^[4]^[5]^[6].

Many of the records for the Indians living on the Warm Springs Reservation are a part of the Warm Springs Agency now housed in the Pacific Alaska Regional Archives of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Seattle^[7].

Land records: Tribally owned: 480,196 acres. Alloted land: 84,118 acres
