This collection contains records from 1961–1981 for United States Army personnel and their dependents who died or were injured, including those who were missing in action and prisoners of war. These records are for deaths or injuries that occurred throughout the world, but the majority of the records are for casualties from the Vietnam War. This collection includes records for active duty enlisted personnel, retired officers or those otherwise separated from the service, some National Guard and Army Reservists, and some civilian employees and dependents (if a notification of the casualty needed to be sent).  
This collection contains a name file to casualty information about Army personnel and their dependents who died or were injured worldwide. The records are from Record Group 407: Records of the Adjutant General's Office. Also known as the U.S. Army. Casuality Information System, 1/1/1961-12/1981 This collection has 293,858 records. The file was acquired from the National Archives, "Access to Archival Databases" (AAD).
