The archive is the official government repository for the State of Chiapas. The Archives' collection contains:
- Books about Chiapas (3,000)
- Data bank about Chiapas (118 Municipalities)
- Periodicals (Periódico Oficial del Estado, 1920-1998)
- Maps (1945-1993)
- Audio (L.P. records, 1950-1993)
- Photographs (photographs of social, political and cultural, events 1930-2000)
