Brief History[edit | edit source]
The 82nd Regiment, New York Infantry left the state for Washington, D. C., May 18, 1861. It mustered into United States service May 28, 1861. The regiment mustered out June 25, 1864, expiration of term. Veterans and Recruits transferred to 59th Regiment New York Infantry July 10, 1864.[1]
