Task Description[edit | edit source]

Add links to Find-A-Grave and other online cemetery records for each of the 29 counties in Utah.

Steps[edit | edit source]

Step 1: Check the Wiki page for the county you are working on. If information is already in the Cemeteries section of that page, ....

Step 2: Copy (in WikiText) the following and paste it (in WikiText) to the Cemeteries section of the county page.

Cemetery records often identify birth, death, relationship, and military information, as well as religious affiliation.

Online resources for cemetery records include:

  • Find A Grave gives a list of cemeteries in ... County and links to the information for the individuals buried there. Usually gives birth and death dates often with a picture of the tombstone. May give obituaries, names of family members and links to their information in Find A Grave.
    • Find A Grave can also be searched by the name of a person or family to find where a person is buried.


Step 3: Change the Find A Grave link to the correct county (DON'T despair: It's easier than the instructions)

a) Click the "list of cemeteries in" link. This takes you to the Utah Find A Grave. b) Select the county you are working on and click Search c) Copy the address (URL) for that search WA: add the image with the areas highlighted

  • On the county page, get into wikitext
    • Highlight the find a grave link — from http:// through =0
    • Paste the address (URL)



Step 4: Replace the three dots (...) with the correct county name.
