Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin[edit | edit source]

Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.

Company A - Indian Company

Company B - Indian Company

Company C - mostly from Haywood County

Company D - mostly from Jackson County

Company E - mostly from Haywood County

Company F - mostly from Jackson County

Company G - mostly from Jackson County

Company H - mostly from Cherokee County

Company I - mostly from Cherokee County

Company K - mostly from Union County, Tennessee[3]

The above information about the companies comes from 69th North Carolina Infantry Thomas' Legion
