Algeria Census: Difference between revisions

Algeria has been ruled by both the Ottoman Empire (1516-1830) and the French (1830-1962) and gained its independence in 1962. Since its independence, Algeria has conducted censuses in 1966, 1977, 1987, and 2020--these records are likely stored at the National Archives. Censuses were also taken during both the Ottoman and French periods; French censuses can be found in the Department d'Oran book above, as well as through Geneanet.com.
